Vertiflute Visits 01: Cedo Wellness
Wellness Through Design: Inside the CEDO Space
In the heart of Salcedo Village, CEDO Wellness reimagines recovery through a sensory space grounded in natural materials and thoughtful design.
Founded by Aly and Josh Arellano, the concept blends physical rehabilitation and mental restoration into a community-driven hub. Its name, derived from “Salcedo” and inspired by the healing willow tree, reflects a commitment to nurturing both body and mind.
The interior follows a gender-neutral philosophy rooted in fundamentals — earth tones, natural textures, warm lighting, and a minimalist language that feels premium yet inviting. Rather than leaning purely clinical or purely aesthetic, the space balances form and function, allowing science-backed modalities to unfold within a grounded, sensory environment.
At the café and reception area, the Vertiflute Red Travertine Concave Strip (600mm x 100mm x 15mm) becomes the defining architectural gesture. Initially considering a lighter white profile, the founders ultimately gravitated toward Red Travertine for its character and warmth. Hints of copper, yellow, and burnt orange subtly echo the ceiling finish and lighting palette, creating visual continuity throughout the space.
Beyond its tonal depth, the concave fluting introduces rhythm and tactility, preventing the earth-toned scheme from feeling monotonous. The material grounds the entry experience — it is often the first element guests notice — and acts as a quiet conversational piece. Its textured presence softens the transition between wellness modalities, reinforcing the space’s contrast-therapy philosophy: warmth and coolness, intensity and calm.
In CEDO Wellness, material is not applied as decoration but as atmosphere. The Red Travertine anchors the environment, shaping a space where recovery feels intentional, immersive, and whole.
